Costs & Payments
How do you price your projects?
We work closely with our clients to budget engineer a design that falls within an agreed upon budget for the level of finish that they are wanting.
Do you offer financing options?
Ask BGW about current options for your budget and whether phased work is practical for your project. Confirm any financing terms directly with the provider.
Do you require a deposit?
Your project agreement should explain the deposit and payment schedule. Review these terms with BGW before proceeding.
What is a ballpark cost per square foot for an addition in Central Indiana?
Costs depend on the size, site conditions, materials, and features in your project. Discuss your priorities and budget with BGW so the scope and selections can be planned together.
What factors most affect the cost of my remodel?
The biggest drivers of cost are structural changes, plumbing/electrical relocations, and custom finishes. If you’re looking to keep costs down, working within the existing layout and choosing mid-range finishes can help. We’ll walk you through options so you understand how each decision impacts your budget.
Design, Permits & Communication
Will I need to move out during remodeling?
It depends on the project. Many kitchen or bathroom remodels can be done while you remain in the home, though some disruption is expected. For larger renovations, temporary relocation may be recommended.
How do you handle permits and inspections?
BGW Construction manages all necessary permits and inspections to ensure compliance with building codes.
Do you use subcontractors?
We partner with trusted trade professionals and craftsmen when specialized expertise is needed—for example, electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians. This approach allows us to bring in the right experts for each phase of your project, ensuring top-quality work without the cost of keeping specialists on payroll year-round. All work is carefully overseen and managed by BGW Construction project managers, so you can be confident in the craftsmanship and accountability from start to finish.
How often will I receive updates?

Do I need to hire an architect separately?
No. BGW is a design-build firm, which means we handle both design and construction under one roof. If additional engineering or architectural input is needed, we coordinate that for you. This keeps the process seamless and eliminates the need for you to juggle multiple contractors.
Will BGW handle HOA approvals or zoning checks?
BGW will prepare the documents but the HOA’s expect to hear from the homeowner. BGW will take care of all permitting with the city/town/county.
Living Through a Remodel
How do you minimize dust and disruption in my home?
We take extra steps to protect your home during construction. That includes plastic barriers, floor protection, HEPA vacuums, and daily clean-up. Our crews respect your space and work to keep disruptions as minimal as possible.
What happens if weather delays the project?
Weather is a factor in Indiana, especially for exterior work. We build realistic schedules and buffer time into our planning. If weather impacts progress, we’ll communicate quickly, adjust the schedule, and keep you informed every step of the way.
After Completion
Do you offer warranties on your work?
Yes. We stand behind our craftsmanship and materials. Warranty details vary by project and product.
What if I have an issue after the project is finished?
Contact BGW with a description and photos of the issue so the team can discuss the appropriate next step.
How should I maintain my new remodel?
We provide maintenance tips specific to your project, including cleaning methods and seasonal care recommendations.
What happens at the final walkthrough?
The final walkthrough is an opportunity to review the work together, note any remaining items, and discuss care and warranty information.
Do you offer maintenance plans or annual check-ins?
While we don’t currently offer a formal maintenance plan, we’re always available if questions or issues arise after your project. Many clients invite us back for future projects, and we’re happy to help with advice, adjustments, or warranty concerns anytime down the road.
