For Bobby Williams, BGW isn’t just a logo—it’s a legacy. The initials stand for his grandfather, Bob Glenn Williams, but they also honor four generations of Williams men. At its core, BGW represents family, faith, and integrity—values that continue to guide Bobby’s life and work.

A Legacy of Strength and Faith

Bobby’s grandfather, Bob, grew up in hardship. Abandoned by his father at age twelve, he worked alongside his brothers and mother to survive on their Indiana farm. Though they eventually lost their home, his determination never wavered. With faith and grit, he and his brothers went on to found Williams Brothers TV and Appliances in Plainfield, Indiana—a business known for nearly fifty years for quality workmanship and honest service.

That same spirit shaped Bob’s son, Rob, who passed it on to his own son, Bobby. Today, Bobby carries that legacy forward and is instilling it in his son, Robbie.

Why the Circular Saw?

Bob’s tool of choice was the circular saw—or “Skilsaw,” as Bobby’s father called it. Unlike most, Bob used it for everything: cutting, ripping, even shaving wood. He’d hold the safety guard back with his fingers and carve with precision, often making onlookers nervous. When Bobby later bought his first table saw, his grandfather teased him—reminding him that he had taught him to do it all with the Skilsaw.

To Bobby, the saw became more than a tool. It symbolizes craftsmanship, creativity, and resilience—the ability to transform raw materials into something purposeful and lasting. That’s why the saw stands at the heart of the BGW logo.
